Loved-One

A note to loved ones:

We believe in family recovery.

The disease of addiction is oftentimes referred to as a family disease in the sense that each person contributes to the disease in one way or another. Many times it’s unknowingly enabling your loved one, but it is okay. Through our integrated family program, we work with you and your loved one to heal the core issues that may exist throughout the family and provide tools that will aid in your family’s recovery as a unit.

I have been in recovery since 2018. I spent nearly a year as a house manager at a Recovery Home with thirteen beds for women. I am also working as a Registered Behavior Technician with children on the autism spectrum and related disorders. I work at OCRC because I believe it is a great home for clients to get sober and start their recovery journey. So far, my favorite part of my job is interacting with clients. I work in this industry because I'm passionate about recovery and being of service to others.

I have a history of gang affiliation, drug addiction and incarceration which the events from those experiences led me to where I'am today. I work at OCRC, because I have a family to take care of and working in this field has rewarded me with personal, spiritual, and mental gain that allows me to continue to push forward. My favorite part of the job is the feeling of hope that a person's life could be changed for the better through the interactions and relationships that get built. I work in this industry because I rarely get judged, condemned, or rejected for my background, which gives me the opportunity to give back in my own way.

Elizabeth Wald

Lead Tech
I was born and raised in California. I struggled with drugs and alcohol myself for over a decade. After my brother's death from a heroin overdose, I knew how important it was for me to get sober. I tried many times and was unsuccessful. I finally realized that I couldn't do it alone, so I decided to check myself into treatment. I could not live in the lifestyle I had been and decided to turn my life around for my daughter and myself. I started working in treatment because it is extremely rewarding. I've experienced getting sober and I know what clients are going through so it makes it easy for me to help them. I also understand what they're going through. My favorite part of the job is watching the clients get to know themselves as well as watching them learn to love themselves. Being able to motivate anybody trying to get sober and letting them know recovery is possible is something I love doing. Making a client's stay safe and as comfortable as possible while at OCRC is very important to me.

Cindy Stillman

I was an executive-level business administrator throughout my career, and I found joy in the nonprofit world, helping various causes develop and fund meaningful programs. Then later in life, my family and I were personally impacted by addiction, and I came to understand this disease's cunning, powerful, and baffling nature. Since then, assisting others with long-term recovery and mental health issues has become my passion. I now have six years of experience in detox, residential treatment, and Mental Health rehabilitation environments. Ocean Coast Recovery puts clients' needs at the heart of every decision. Staff are experienced, knowledgeable and genuinely care about the clients they serve. My favorite part of my job is seeing the light and hope return to someone's eyes. It is a true joy to support individuals of all ages who want to change their lives. I am blessed to be able to help provide the loving support, compassion, strength, and hope needed in long-term recovery while also learning so much from fellow addicts and dual-diagnosis clientele.

Annelise

Support Staff
I'm a mixed race non-binary person in recovery. I come from a background in psychology and hope one day to be a therapist so I can help people like me find peace and health. I work at OCRC because it is a great place to work and I get to help people every day. In fact my favorite parts of the job are talking with the clients and the work culture between staff. I work in recovery partially to give back what I've gotten and partially because this is the industry I want to continue to work in once I get my degree in social work.
